David founded CAVU Wealth Advisors in 2009 and has more than 30 years of experience in the financial industry.
In the early part of his career David was a noted airline analyst specializing in the emerging airlines that started after the Airline Deregulation Act of 1978. Following that experience, he worked with several investment banking firms, including ten years at Montgomery Securities, now Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
Following those roles David became a portfolio manager, first utilizing active investment strategies and then converting to passive, index-based, investment strategies.
Throughout his career, David has witnessed increasing efficiency of the markets – especially since the advent of near ubiquity of real-time global information. As a result of these experiences, David has become an ardent supporter of index-based asset class investing.
David attended the University of Richmond on a football scholarship and graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration.
He is a past board member of the national board of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. As a volunteer, David currently teaches a class on Lifetime Financial Skills at the Bay Area Rescue Mission in Richmond, CA.
David and his wife Terry have been married since 1978, and have four grown daughters and six grandchildren. They reside in Moraga, CA and are active members of Moraga Valley Presbyterian Church.
David enjoys outdoor activities including golf, running, and backpacking.
